From release 19.11 onwards it is possible to manage reports attached to studies.

The permission to delete reports is added to the study permissions in the organisation settings. By default only admin users can delete reports.

If the user is allowed to delete reports, a new entry in the actions menu shows the "delete report" option.

In case multiple reports are attached to the study, the user is asked to select the correct report to delete before the action can be confirmed.

Select the report to be deleted
Confirm deletion of the report

When downloading a study from the Lify explorer or from the viewer, the selected study can optionally be de-identified.

After selecting the download button, a pop-up appears with the option to anonymize the study. By default this option is disabled.

Note: The de-identification is DICOM compliant and only removes information from the metadata in the DICOM header. Patient information in the pixel data like Patient name in Ultrasound studies and secondary captures are not removed.

From this release onwards there are three options to include the report in the study.

  • Directly at publication (now)
  • With delay (delay has to be configured)
  • Never

This allows to share old studies with a patient or GP without delaying the availability of the report.

The blinded viewing profile prevents the user from seeing the patient information in the explorer and the viewer. The patient date of birth is set to January 1st of the birth year, the patient name is removed and the patient ID is hashed. If there are two studies of the same patient, the hash takes care that the new patient ID of both studies is the same, allowing the user to identify studies from the same patient. All attached reports are not visible to this user.

The permission can be set for a user group or a individual user in the global permissions.

In the viewer the feature save as .jpeg is added to the toolbar. This feature allows the user to download the image in the selected viewport in .jpeg format. The image is stored in the default download folder. The default filename is Patient name + study description + series description e.g. Doe, John - CR CHEST - Lateral.

With the newly introduced "select all" option it is easy to select all studies that match a filter criteria for publication or deletion.

The study details section has now the option to view the DICOM tags of the study. Press the button "See DICOM tags" to open a window that displays the DICOM tags of all series and instances in the selected study.

The study filter can now handle multiple criteria. By entering two or more filter criteria divided by a space, studies will be listed that match 1 or more of the filter criteria.

In this example the list is filtered on Ortho and CT. If one or both criteria are in the patient name, patient ID, Study description, accession number or modality, the study will be listed.

An option "About Lify" is added in the user drop down menu in the upper right corner of the screen.

Clicking this option shows you the product and company information and our contact details.

The display of names has been changed in the explorer and the organisation settings.

Names are now displayed as Lastname, Firstname e.g.

Doe, John

Name, User

Doe, Jane x

Several small changes have been applied to the user management.

The functions have been added to:

  • Filter on user status
  • Sort on user status
  • Filter on user name

With the Attach Report option users can attach report to the study. Clicking "attach reports" opens a screen to drag and drop PDF documents. Alternatively users can browse for reports and select one or multiple reports to be attached to the study. If multiple reports are available in the study, a blue indicator shows the total number of reports.

The text in the e-mail is now customizable before the e-mail is send.

The entered text will replace the default text and the link to the study is automatically added at the end of the e-mail. The personalized text allows clear communication with the receiver and can for example refference to a phone call prior to the publication of the study.

Several search options have been improved in this releas

Patient name

In the search option you can search on the full patient first and last name or parts of it.

For example searching for patient John Doe can be doen in the following way:

  • John Doe
  • Doe John
  • Doe J
  • Do John

And other combinations.

Use of wildcards is allowed but not required.

Accession number

A field is added to the Search screen to search on accession number.

Patient ID

From this release onwards it is possible to search on a part of the patient ID e.g. first or last 4 digits. The result might return more than one patient.

The list with modalities to search on is extended and now lists the most common modalities.

If you want to add tags to a study you can do a search for the tags in the list. This is especially for installations using a lot of tags.

By opening the tag editor, the current tags are listed.

Clicking in the Typing the first letter of the name of the tag in the free area will list the available tags.

A click on the tag will select the tag for this study.

The options for sharing a study are now the same for URL, e-mail and Refference code.

Activation period

The default list is extended with 3 more default options

Under more options, the activation period can be set for anything between 1 day and never expires.

When sharing studies, you can now shares multiple ones at once under the same publication link / reference code. Your user will then be able to see the shared studies from a unified viewer showing the shared studies.

The uploader UI has been updated. It now gives the user a nice lace to track the upload progress and status while not getting in the way of the user, allowing him to continue working while upload is in progress.

We added options in the search screen so you can now search patient by birthdate and sex as well as by accession number and by multiple modalities

In addition to the split of publication between mine (for all users) and all (reserved to admin user), it's now easy to search for publications based on several criterias. When lots of publications are issued, this should help you find the ones you need.

publications consultation is now paginated and include a search field. We also split personal publications (for regular use to consult the publication he made) and all consultation (for admin user to consult the state of all the consultation in the system)

identify your patient more accurately with it's birthdate and sex

You now see at a blink of an eye which studies have reports and which don't.

Also , we revisited the presentation of the report. We now leverage the browser built-in pdf viewer.

And finally, if your study contains multiple reports, you can now choose which one to view.

As a system administrator, you can now set the default options for the sharing of studies. Useful if you want your user to always have the hospital policy proposed by default when it comes to share studies. Less fiddling, less error from your user.

We're working hard to improve the extensivity of our Identity Access Management. Thanks to a close integration of Keycloak, we can now rather easily extent the way to identify into Lify to other user provider like Ldap, OpenId Connect or Saml. Thanks to this, integration to national IAM (eg the belgian eHealth system) will be greatly simplified.

And don't worry about you'r existing user, we got them covered in the upgrade process.

In addition to publication by Url and E-mails, we now offer a user interface to publish your study by reference code. This will allow you to generate a reference code on-demand and print the code so that you can give it to your patient.

When you publish a study with its report, you can now set a retention period during which the patient has no access to the report. At this moment, this option is only available through UI

Using API, you can now attach a report (in pdf format) or update an existing report.

The patient portal now allows the user to choose its language. It also inform the user of the format of the birth date he has to enter.

It's now possible to configure the time by which studies are kept in the web portal differently according to the type of the study. For instance, you might want to keep the mammography exams for 3 years but X-Rays only for 1 year in your publication portal.

Please contact our team if you wish to configure your system.

The web portal is now configurable to suits your organization. You can now change the logo, the name and the helpdesk phone number displayed on the publication portal. Let your administrator head to Organization Settings -> Organization Info to enter your organization information.

Following previous enhancement, we extended the bulk actions range. It is now possible to delete multiple studies at once by using multi-selection

For a time, listing studies was great. But sometimes you want to have more details about a particular study. Thanks to the new study details view, you get a glance at the most useful information found in your study metadata.

Thanks to the latest Osimis Viewer Pro, you can now print directly your study from the viewer itself.

It has never been so easy to open your study in your external Osirix/Horos viewer. Once configured, your favourite viewer is directly accessible from the Lify study explorer.

Head to our demo to try it for yourself. Simply configure Osirix and Lify as below, then you're one click away from sending and opening the studies in Osirix.

Latest documentation is also directly available from our site.

Extending Lify is now possible through WebHooks. When some events occurs, your webhooks will be called with informations allowing you to react on those events.

Configuration is still a bit harsh and number of events is rather limited, but let us know if this kind of extension interest you and we'll add a configuration user interface and add more events for your application to react to.

Carrying on our effort to make the Lify system fully administrable by site administrator, we introduce user interfaces to manage multiple aspects of your Lify setup.

With the Tag Manager, your Lify administrator can now setup all the kind of tags you can find in Lify.

Tag manager

With the Permission Manager, your Lify administrator has now the full power of Lify User Rights at his disposal. He can list all the permissions user or group of users has and he can easily edit permissions on study, tag or the entire account.

Of course Permission Manager is accessible directly from Tag Manager and User Manager. Simply spot the permission icon.

User can now log either using their username, or their email address.

For all keyboard addicts like ourselves, all popup dialogs in Lify now set focus on the first field and allow to discard the action using escape key.
